Casadevall foresees a "normalization" of justice in two years with the shock plan

The president of the Superior Council of Justice, Enric Casadevall, stated this morning during the inauguration of the judicial year that, with the new additions provided for in the shock plan, there will be a "normalization" of justice in a couple of years. In this way, Casadevall has hinted that towards 2026 it will be possible to notice a speeding up of judicial cases.  The president of the CSJ has also taken advantage of the public event, as he has done on other occasions, to claim once again the budgetary independence of the judiciary, an area that nowadays depends on the Government. It is not, as he reiterated, about having more money, but about "gaining agility, in the same way as is already happening in many countries, which would strengthen the independence of this power from the State".
 
For his part, the Attorney General of the State, Alfons Alberca, has made known the content of the judicial report, corresponding to the last eighteen months, since from now on the judicial year will coincide with the calendar year. During this period, more than 15,000 files have been registered, around 10,500 in one year, which means that the actions of the Prosecutor's Office "remain" at the same level as in previous years.
 
Alberca has also highlighted some shortcomings in the international arena and has indicated that he does not understand how it is that the Mérida agreement, which dates from 2003 and deals with private corruption, has not yet been ratified. The Attorney General has also referred to the need for a "comprehensive reform" of the Code of Criminal Procedure with the aim of introducing new technologies in investigations, and of the international cooperation law to fight more effectively against cybercrime
